I recently acquired the rights (or the right to use) the original downsyze songs... Some of the best stuff I have ever been apart of... I have been in countless (okay 2) bands since the "downsyze" project and loved them in their own right.. However there was something about that music and the way I write that just clicked (in my opinion) with the downsyze project... I received an email from the person
that was the master mind behind the downsyze music.... Who unequivocally said that I was again allowed to use it without repercussion or a battle and what not (which I never wanted, too expensive)... Now I wrote every lyric and melody there was on the songs, but he put a lot of hard work into the rest.... You have to understand he was "the band" a very talented individual... More talented then the others I have worked with?... I dunno... Probably... But the point is the music and me clicked... It was radio worthy, even made it to several radio stations, some without his knowledge, and probably some without mine.... Anyway the project was cut short years ago by a few reasons... Bottom line I probably could have saved it at the end but decided to destroy it... I don't remember why, basically I felt betrayed, but that's not either here nor there I wasn't betrayed even closely to the extreme I was by Westlake... Anyway the reason for this post is A. I am ecstatic by his
choice to extend the rights to me without "strings" and of course, I did the same. And B. His choice to send me a new song to work on, which is right up my and "downsyze's" alley... Is the project back together? NO and will the new song be produced by the same person that produced the original "downsyze" project?... NO ... Why not?... Simple he
produced them too... So the new song will be produced or "re" produced and "re"mastered by me... And I am not too shabby these days (I learned alot from the guy)... I am not stopping there... I'm putting together the demo and I am going to market it one more time
... I will reproduce and fill in the blanks in the song "holding out"
because all though it has some lyrical (and musical) genius in it, it always sounded like it was missing something, and I have had years to figure out what that was... Plus this is the hard rock/ heavy metal music, that the market has been missing and craving for quite sometime now, and I truly believe in it... Don't forget to watch for the new (downsyze) song that Rich
calls "10,000 souls" but I call "without fear" coming soon on the music page, that will soon be, no longer, password protected.
